Course Description:

The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) by Mark Sundberg, PhD, BCBA-D has it all: a criterion-referenced skills and barriers assessment, skills-tracking system, and a curriculum guide, which follow the tenants of Verbal Behavior as developed by B.F. Skinner. Consisting of 5 parts (Milestones assessment, barriers assessment, transition assessment, task analysis, and suggested goals), the VB-MAPP covers 900 skills in 16 areas of verbal, cognitive, and social development. This well-structured tool provides an assessor and supervisor with a detailed picture of an individual’s current skills and needs, along with long and short term goal areas that are developmentally appropriate for the child based on their identified skill level. Who Should Attend: Behavior Analysts, BCBA candidates, Special Educators, and other professionals who assess and treat children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this training, participants should be able to:

  • Conduct the VB-MAPP
  • Analyze results in order to present a child’s current level of skills, barriers, and needs
  • Utilize results to develop appropriate and meaningful long and short term treatment goals
